3rd class "prepa-trades"
If your child wants to move towards the professional path or apprenticeship, he can ask to access the 3rd class "prepa-trades". This device allows him to discover several trades while following the classic teachings of the 3rd class.
Program
The 3rd class "prepa-professions" includes the following lessons:
Disciplinary lessons (25 hours per week)
Teaching of professional discovery of trades and vocational training (5 hours per week)
Observation sequence in a professional environment (1 week maximum during the school year)
Internships and periods of immersion in a professional environment (1 to 4 weeks during the school year)
PROFESSIONAL DISCOVERY MODULE
The objectives of professional discovery are:
– Discover and explore professional activities; they discover several different professional sectors in workshops and internships.
– Discover work organizations and how they work.
– Discover training places.
The organization of the third Prépa-Métiers is based on an individualized approach: each student is accompanied, assessments and interviews are organized regularly to take stock of their schooling and their professional project.
Application for admission
At the end of the 4th class, you and your child must send a request for admission to the 3rd "prepa-professions" to the head of the original establishment.
After a favorable opinion from the class council, an academic committee examines the request for passage to 3rd “prepa-professions”.
This commission grants or refuses the request. It communicates its decision to the school. The decision is also sent to you.
Orientation
At the end of the 3rd year "prepa-profession" class, your child takes part in the same orientation and assignment procedure as the other 3rd year students.
However, access to professional training is favored. His request for assignment takes priority.
However, nothing prevents him from pursuing general or technological studies.
